신세계가 지난 1분기에 이어 올 2분기도 역대 최대 실적을 기록했다. 소비심리 회복에 따른 백화점 매출 성장과 신세계인터내셔날의 2분기 사상 최대 실적 달성 등 연결 자회사들의 실적 반등으로 시장의 전망치를 상회하는 성과를 이뤄낸 것이다.
신세계는 올 2분기 연결기준 매출 1조 3953억원, 영업이익 962억원을 기록했다. 전년대비 매출액은 37.6% 늘었고 영업이익(흑자전환)은 2분기 사상 최대 실적을 기록했다. 과거 연결기준 최대 영업이익은 2018년에 달성한 798억원이다.
1·2분기를 합친 상반기 영업이익도 2198억원이라는 사상 최대 실적을 기록하며 뉴노멀 시대에서의 경쟁력을 증명했다. 먼저 백화점 2분기 매출은 4969억원으로 전년 동기 대비 15.0% 성장했다. 영업이익은 2분기 역대 최대 규모인 670억원으로 전년에 비해 3배 가까이 늘었다. 대구ㆍ광주ㆍ대전 별도법인 포함한 금액이며 신세계사이먼이 운영하는 아울렛은 제외됐다. 과거 별도기준 최대 영업이익은 2018년에 달성한 529억원이다.
2019년 대비로도 매출은 11.0% 신장하고, 영업이익은 56.5% 늘어나며 위기 속 경영관리 능력을 여실히 보여줬다. 1분기에 이은 해외패션(42.8%) · 명품(55.4%) 장르의 강한 성장세와 함께 4월 이후 반등한 여성(26.3%) · 남성패션(23.0%) 등의 수요 회복이 백화점 외형 성장을 이끌었다.
특히 국내 최대 규모의 명품 · 해외패션 · 생활 전문관 등 신세계만의 차별화된 오프라인 콘텐츠에 SSG닷컴 · 네이버와의 라이브 커머스 협업 등의 새로운 시도가 더해지며 안정적인 실적을 기록했다. 신세계백화점의 올해 상반기 온라인 매출 실적은 전년 대비 14.1% 성장했다.
신세계백화점은 오는 27일 오픈하는 대전신세계 Art ＆ Science와 함께, 새단장중인 강남점, 경기점 등 지속적인 오프라인 혁신으로 하반기에도 실적 호조세를 이어갈 전망이다.
신세계인터내셔날, 디에프, 센트럴시티, 신세계까사 등 연결 자회사들의 실적도 눈에 띈다. 먼저 인터내셔날은 해외패션 · 코스메틱 부문의 견고한 실적과 국내 패션의 수요 증가로 매출은 3407억원(전년대비 +18.6%), 265억원(흑자전환)을 기록하며 2분기 사상 최대 실적을 기록했다. 신세계인터내셔날 기존 2분기 최대 매출은 2019년의 3017억원이다.
코스메틱(44.6%), 해외패션(15.9%) 부문이 명품 브랜드와 고급 니치 향수 등에 대한 수요 확대로 높은 성장세를 보이며 매출을 견인했다.
국내 패션의 경우 브랜드 효율화와 온라인 사업 강화를 바탕으로 매출과 수익성이 개선됐으며 자주사업부문 또한 히트 상품 개발과 온라인 매출 증가로 좋은 성과를 거뒀다. 신세계디에프는 매출 5605억원, 영업이익 192억원을 기록하며 분기 연속 흑자 경영을 이어나갔다. 지난해 9월부터 인천공항 면세점 임대료가 영업요율 방식으로 전환되고 2019년과 2020년에 선반영한 자산손상으로 인해 회계상 반영될 비용이 줄어든 덕분이다.
센트럴시티도 호텔, 백화점 등 매출 증대에 따른 임대 수익 증가로 매출 655억원(전년대비 +24.0%), 영업이익 41억원(흑자전환)을 기록했다.
신세계까사는 신규점, 온라인(굳닷컴) 채널의 안정적인 매출과 프리미엄 상품군 수요 확대 등으로 매출 483억원을 기록하며 전년대비 26.1% 성장했다. 신규 출점 등으로 인한 투자비 영향으로 영업이익은 -26억원이지만, 지난 분기에 이어 지속적으로 적자폭을 개선하며 올해 흑자 전환에 청신호를 켰다. 2020년 2분기 신세계까사 실적은 영업이익 -30억원을 기록했다.
신세계 관계자는 “어려운 영업환경 속에서도 백화점 온·오프라인의 고른 성장과 자회사의 실적 개선을 바탕으로 2분기 사상 최대 영업이익을 기록했다”며 “올 하반기 대전신세계 Art ＆ Science 오픈, 강남점 리뉴얼 등 오프라인 채널강화와 신세계인터내셔날, 신세계까사 등 자회사의 지속적인 외형 확장을 바탕으로 더욱 호전된 실적을 기록할 것”이라고 말했다.
