K-패션을 주목하는 전 세계 패션피플이 동대문에 집결한다. 세계적으로 K-패션에 대한 관심이 높아진 만큼 서울패션위크에 프랑스ㆍ영국ㆍ일본 등을 대표하는 큰 손 바이어들이 대거 서울을 찾는다.
서울시는 2024 S/S 서울패션위크(Seoul Fashion Week)를 9월 5일(금)부터 9일(토)까지 5일간 동대문디자인플라자(DDP)에서 개최한다. 패션위크는 한 시즌 앞서 2월에는 FW(가을ㆍ겨울) 컬렉션을, 9월에는 다음 해의 SS(봄ㆍ여름) 컬렉션을 공개한다.
올해 서울패션위크는 해외 큰 손 바이어 참여도를 높이기 위해 개최 시기를 한 달 앞당겨 ‘세계 4대 패션위크(뉴욕, 파리, 밀라노, 런던)’보다 한발 앞서 다음 시즌의 패션 트렌드를 선보인다.
이번 서울패션위크는 ① 30개 패션쇼 ② 94개 브랜드, 27개국 127명 해외 바이어가 참여하는 트레이드 쇼 ③ 패션과 테크가 어우러진 시민 참여 프로그램 등으로 구성된다.
5일간 총 30번의 런웨이가 펼쳐진다. 국내 정상급 디자이너(서울 컬렉션, SC) 브랜드 21곳ㆍ신진 디자이너 브랜드(제너레이션 넥스트, GN) 8곳ㆍ기업 브랜드(메트로시티) 1곳이 참여한다. 9월 5일(화) 개막 첫 날에는 서울패션위크 공식 포토콜에 ‘서울패션위크 글로벌 홍보대사’ 뉴진스(NewJeans)가 참석해 자리를 빛낸다.
또한, 이번 시즌에는 현대백화점과 협업을 통해 ‘패션’과 ‘미술’을 접목한 특별한 런웨이(9개 쇼)를 시도한다. 총 9개의 브랜드(와이쏘시리얼즈, 데무 박춘무, 석운윤, 라이, 피플오브더월드, 디앤티도트, 곽현주 컬레션, 두칸, 시이안 )에서 아트스트와 협업해 작가의 작품을 패턴화한 컬렉션을 선보인다. 아트슈머( Artsumer)의 취향에 맞춰 패션에 문화 요소를 더해 만족감을 선사할 계획이다.

패션산업 분야의 국내 최대 규모 트레이드 쇼에는 의류, 가방, 신발, 액세서리 등 국내 패션기업 94개 사와 27개국 127명의 해외 바이어, 국내 패션 관련 유통, 투자사 등과의 수주, 유통망 확장의 기회를 제공한다.
특히, 꾸준하게 서울패션위크를 찾고 있는 쁘렝땅(프랑스), 3NY(미국) 등과 함께 이탈리아 명품 편집샵 에랄도(ERALDO), 영국 럭셔리 백화점 리버티런던(Liberty London), 프랑스 파리를 대표하는 백화점 봉마르쉐(Bon Marche), 일본 대표 백화점 브랜드 이세탄(ISETAN) 등이 최초로 참여해 세계적으로 높아진 K-패션 열풍에 동참한다.
행사 마지막 날인 9월 9일(토) 오전 10시~오후 6시에는 일반인 입장이 가능하며 트레이드 쇼에 참여한 디자이너 브랜드의 제품을 현장에서 직접 구매할 수 있다.
서울패션위크가 패션산업 관계자는 물론 시민과 국내외 관광객 모두가 현장을 찾아 즐길 수 있도록 참여형 프로그램도 운영한다.
DDP 야외 어울림광장에서는 패션과 테크를 융합한 인공지능 홀로그램 화보 촬영을 체험할 수 있는 프로그램을 운영하고, 이간수문 전시장에서 국내 유명 패션 브랜드 ‘앤더슨 벨(Anderson Bell)’과 우루과이 사진작가 ‘제이피 보니노(JP Bonino)’의 기획 전시 ‘ ADSB × JP Bonino’도 진행한다.
입장료 없이 누구나 즐길 수 있는 이번 전시회는 ‘기후변화’와 ‘지속 가능한 패션’에 대한 화두를 던진다. 앤더슨 벨은 스칸디나비아 감성에 기반한 국내 인기 브랜드로 2014년 런칭한 후 현재 전 세계 150개 해외 숍을 운영 중이다.
