마름, 민트컨설팅은 김미라 대표가 과거 백화점과 패션 브랜드 프리랜서 연출 경력과 엘르 언더웨어 판촉팀 과장 역임 경험을 바탕으로 2009년에 설립했다.
디스플레이(Display)와 비주얼머천다이징(Visual Merchandising: VM), 전시(Exhibition)를 전문으로 하여 롯데 하이마트 등의 유통 공간을 디자인하고 연출하던 중, 동대문디자인플라자(DDP) 개관 기념 특별전인 간송문화전의 아트숍을 디스플레이한 계기로 전통 상품 전시에 발을 들여놓게 됐다.
이후 경복궁 등 5대 궁궐 뮤지엄숍, 인천공항 전통문화센터 연출과 국회박물관 아트숍 개관 등 전통 상품 숍 연출을 맡았으며, 평창 올림픽, 한복 상점, 핸디아트코리아 등 박람회 전시와 팝업 부스 디자인 및 연출도 진행했다.
이와 동시에 민트컨설팅은 교육과 컨설팅과도 밀접한 연관성을 가지게 되었다. 프리랜서 연출 생활과 더불어 나래디자인학원 강남점의 디스플레이 전문 강사로 활동하며 교육계에 발을 들였다.
이후 숭의여자대학교, 상명대학교, 청강문화산업대학 등 대학교와 코오롱패션산업연구원(FIK), 한국생산성본부에서 전문위원과 기업체 특강을 진행하며 공간 관련 교육(Education)과 컨설팅(Consulting)을 통해 후학 양성에 힘썼다.
최근에는 NCS(국가직무능력표준) 비주얼 머천다이징 분야 산업전문위원, 학습모듈 집필, 일학습병행제 시험 출제 위원 등 비주얼머천다이징 관련 교육 프로그램 개발 전 과정에 참여하고 있으며, 현재도 학습 모듈 수정과 집필을 진행 중이다.
현재 민트컨설팅은 비주얼머천다이징을 기반으로 활발한 활동을 이어가고 있으며, 여성기업 인증과 디자인 특허를 보유한 내실 있는 업체로 성장했다.
또한, 김미라 대표는 중소벤처기업부 산하 기관인 한국여성경제인협회 남서울지회 이사를 역임하며 여성기업인을 위해 활발히 활동하고 있다.
