대명소노그룹 소노인터내셔널, ‘크로스 호텔앤리조트’ 인수한다

국내 최대 하스피탈리티 기업 대명소노그룹(회장 서준혁) 소노인터내셔널은 아시아태평양 지역 호텔·리조트를 운영하는 ‘크로스 호텔앤리조트(Cross Hotels&Resorts)’를 인수하는 계약을 체결하고 글로벌 호텔·리조트 기업으로 사업 확장을 가속화한다.

소노인터내셔널은 세계적인 여행 기업으로 손꼽히는 FCTG(Flight Centre Travel Group)가 소유한 ‘크로스 호텔앤리조트’의 태국 및 인도네시아 법인 지분 100%를 인수하는 계약을 체결하고, 10월 28일부터 태국의 방콕, 치앙마이, 파타야와 인도네시아의 발리를 중심으로 총 15개의 호텔·리조트 1,507개의 객실을 운영하게 됐다.

‘크로스 호텔앤리조트’의 보유 브랜드는 ‘크로스(CROSS)’, ‘크로스 바이브(CROSS VIBE)’, ‘크로스 콜렉션(CROSS COLLECTION)’, ‘어웨이(AWAY), ‘루멘(LUMEN)’까지 5개로 도심형 라이프스타일 호텔부터 휴양지형 프리미엄 리조트까지 폭넓은 포트폴리오를 갖춰, 일반 여행객은 물론 비즈니스 여행객까지 아우르고 있다.

특히 크로스 치앙마이 리버사이드 리조트(Cross Chiang Mai Riverside Resort)는 럭셔리 부티크 리조트로, 아름다운 자연 경관 속 모던한 디자인과 프라이빗한 풀빌라를 갖추고 차별화된 서비스로 2023년도부터 미쉐린 가이드 태국 호텔 부문에 선정될 정도로 높은 평가를 받고 있다.

또한 2028년 발리 세미냑 해변에 개관 예정인 ‘엘르 리조트 앤 비치 클럽 바이 크로스 콜렉션(ELLE Resort&Beach Club by Cross Collection)’은 글로벌 패션 브랜드 엘르(ELLE)와 공동으로 진행하는 프로젝트로 135개의 초호화 객실과 스위트룸을 갖춰 발리 세미냑을 대표하는 프리미엄 휴양 시설로 자리매김할 것으로 기대된다.

소노인터내셔널은 이번 인수 및 운영을 시작으로, 2029년까지 태국과 인도네시아에 10개의 호텔과 리조트를 추가로 확장할 계획이다.

소노인터내셔널은 지난 2019년 베트남 ‘소노벨 하이퐁’ 위탁 운영을 시작으로, 2022년에는 미국 워싱턴 DC ‘노르망디 호텔’, 2023년에는 뉴욕 ‘33 시포트 호텔 뉴욕‘, 2024년 프랑스 파리 ‘담 데 자르 호텔’, 하와이 ‘와이키키리조트호텔’을 인수해 안정적으로 운영 중이다.

올해 3월에는 괌을 대표하는 골프장 ‘온워드 망길라오 골프클럽(Onward Mangilao Golf Club)’과 ‘온워드 탈로포포 골프클럽(Onward Talofofo Golf Club)’도 인수하여 ‘소노펠리체 CC 괌 망길라오’, ‘소노펠리체 CC 괌 탈로포포’로 운영하는 등 해외진출에 박차를 가하고 있다.

소노인터내셔널 관계자는 “크로스 호텔앤리조트 인수는 티웨이항공이 취항 중인 태국과 인도네시아 노선과 연계하여 항공, 숙박 시너지를 창출하는 핵심 발판이 될 것”이라며, “이를 통해 동남아시아에서의 입지를 강화하고 나아가 아시아태평양 지역까지 사업을 확장해 나가는 동력을 확보할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
