수제맥주 스타트업 더쎄를라잇브루잉(대표이사 전동근)은 10월 16일 오비맥주(대표 벤마그다제이베르하르트)와 오비맥주 남양주 공장 시설을 인수하는 계약을 맺었다고 16일 밝혔다. 구체적인 인수 금액과 조건은 양 사의 비밀 유지 조항에 따라 공개하지 않기로 했다.
남양주 공장은 2014년 창업한 더핸드앤몰트의 수제맥주 양조장으로 활용되다가 2018년 4월 오비맥주가 더핸드앤몰트를 인수하면서 오비맥주 산하 공장이 됐다.
오비맥주는 올 8월 남양주 공장 가동을 중단하고 기존 공장에서 핸드앤몰트를 생산하고 있다. 남양주 공장을 인수한 더쎄를라잇브루잉은 재단장을 거쳐 2021년 1월부터 공장을 가동한다는 계획이다.
현재 서울 금천구 가산동에 있는 1공장과 남양주 2공장을 완전히 가동할 때 예상되는 생산량은 연 300만 리터 정도다. 이는 수제맥주 업계 8위 정도의 생산량이다. 기존에 설립을 계획했던 추가 공장은 3공장으로 이름을 바꾼다. 3공장의 최종 목표 생산량은 약 2000만 리터로 2021년 상반기 안에 가동을 목표로 하고 있으며 계획대로 진행될 경우 수제맥주 생산량 업계 TOP 10 안에 진입하게 된다.
전동근 대표이사는 “현재 1공장과 2공장을 빠르게 가동해서 물량공급 안정화를 달성하겠다”며 “3공장을 2021년 상반기 안에 가동해 부족한 생산량을 채워 나갈 것이며 지속적인 주류 관련 대기업과의 협업을 통해서 수제맥주 시장에 새로운 도전장을 내밀 계획”이라고 말했다. 이어 “점점 규모를 키워가면서 소규모 수제맥주 회사들을 인수, 합병(M&A)해 ‘수제맥주 연합군’을 만드는 게 목표”라고 덧붙였다.
2020년 설립 4년 차를 맞는 더쎄를라잇브루잉은 2019 송도 맥주 축제와 신촌 맥주 축제에서 수제 맥주 판매량 1위를 달성해 화제가 된 수제 맥주 제조 스타트업이다. 특히 신촌 맥주 축제에서는 국내 로컬 브루어리들 가운데 가장 큰 규모의 양조장을 제치고 판매량 1위를 기록하기도 했다. 최근 11월에는 세븐일레븐과 유동골뱅이와 함께 ‘유동 골뱅이에는 맥주’를 출시해 많은 고객에게 주목을 받고 있다.
