라이브 커머스 그립(대표 김한나)이 앱 출시 3년 만인 지난 4월에 누적설치수 400만 건을 돌파했다고 17일 밝혔다. 2021년 4월 기준으로 약 170만 건이던 누적설치수가 1년 만에 두 배 넘게 증가했다. 또한 지난해 말 약 1000억 원이던 누적 거래액 역시 4개월여 만에 1600억 원을 넘어서기도 했다.
그립의 성장 배경에는 그립의 서비스적 강점과 다양한 콘텐츠 제공이 있다. 직관적인 유저인터페이스 및 사용자 경험(UI·UX) 및 안정적인 네트워크 서비스 제공하고 있으며, 그리퍼(라이브방송 진행자) 뿐만 아니라 소상공인 셀러들의 다양한 콘텐츠 제공 역시 성장에 큰 영향을 미치고 있다고 밝혔다.
그립은 이외에도 일 평균 방송 수 약 1,000건, 인당 월 평균 시청 시간 4시간 40분으로 유저 액티비티가 매우 높은 수준으로 단순한 쇼핑 플랫폼을 넘어 라이프스타일로 받아들여 활용하는 고객군이 늘고있는 점또한 앱 설치수 증가에 영향을 준 것으로 분석하고 있다.
그립컴퍼니 안현정 부대표는 “앞으로도 그립만의 특성을 살린 다양한 콘텐츠를 통해 볼거리, 놀거리, 살거리가 많은 라이브 커머스 플랫폼으로 거듭나갈 예정이니 많은 기대 부탁드린다.”고 말했다.
한편, 그립은 지난해 12월 카카오에게 1800억원을 투자받은바 있다. 이는 커머스 분야에서 카카오의 최대 규모 투자다. 올해 2월에는 소상공인 온라인 진출 활성화에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 중소벤처기업부 장관상을 수상하기도 했다.
