커버써먼(CVSM, 대표 이재호)이 영국 섬유패션 전문 매체 ‘저스트 스타일’이 주관하는 ‘저스트 스타일 엑설런스 어워드 2025(Just Style Excellence Awards 2025)’에서 3개 부문을 수상했다.
저스트 스타일 엑설런스 어워드는 글로벌 섬유·패션 산업에서 혁신성과 지속가능성을 갖춘 기업을 시상하는 권위 있는 어워드다. 커버써먼은 공기 단열 기술의 상용화와 차세대 소재 연구 역량을 인정받아 혁신, 환경, 연구개발(R&D) 부문에서 동시 수상했다.
커버써먼은 자체 개발한 공기 단열 기술 ‘에어테크(Air Tech)’로 혁신성과 친환경성을 인정받았다. 에어테크는 유연한 섬유 구조에 공기를 주입해 보온성과 볼륨감을 형성하는 기술로, 기존 다운 및 합성 충전재를 대체하는 것이 특징이다.
특히 에어테크 기술은 국내 공인 시험 기관 ‘FITI 시험연구원’에서 기존 구스다운 대비 94% 수준의 보온 성능을 입증, 현재 PAF(Post Archive Faction), 3.PARADIS, 데상트 등 글로벌 패션 브랜드에 공급하며 기술 시장성과 제품 신뢰성을 확보한 바 있다.
이와 함께 연구개발 부문에서는 자외선 노출 시 원사 색상이 변하는 광변색 기술인 ‘UV 컬러 체인지(UV Color Change)’가 주목받았다. UV 컬러 체인지는 표면 코팅이 아닌 원사 내부에서 반응하도록 설계돼 반복 노출 이후에도 색 변화가 지속되고 장기간 착용이나 세탁 과정에서도 기능 저하 없이 안정적으로 유지된다.
향후 커버써먼은 차세대 기능성 소재 개발과 스마트 섬유 라인업을 지속 확대할 예정이다. 또한 연내 스마트팩토리를 완공해 에어테크 키트를 자체 생산하며, 품질 표준화와 대규모 제품 출시 체계를 구축할 계획이다.
