아모레퍼시픽(회장 서경배)이 올해 5월부터 11월까지 진행한 제3회 ‘A MORE Beautiful Challenge’ 프로그램을 성공적으로 마무리했다.
‘A MORE Beautiful Challenge’는 임팩트 창출 및 성장 가능성을 보유한 소셜벤처를 발굴하고 오픈 이노베이션 연결 및 투자기회를 제공하는 프로그램으로 2022년 시작해 올해 3회를 맞이했다. 아모레퍼시픽이 주관하고 스타트업 육성 및 임팩트 투자회사인 ‘엠와이소셜컴퍼니’가 운영하고 있다.
올해는 ‘레스 플라스틱’과 ‘넷제로’를 주제로 우수 소셜벤처 나누, 서스테이너블랩, 리베이션, 브이피피랩, 탄소중립연구원을 선발했다. 프로그램을 통해 지난 5개월간 아모레퍼시픽 유관 부서와 밋업데이 및 사내 상시 전시를 진행하고, 현업 부서와 오픈 이노베이션 기회 발굴 및 투자 연계 등을 지원했다.
레스 플라스틱 분야에서 선발된 ‘나누’는 버려지는 천연소재(감귤 껍질, 맥주 부산물, 녹차박, 왕겨 등)와 친환경 코팅기술을 활용해 일회용 플라스틱 대체 펄프 용기 및 패키징을 개발하는 기업이다. 아모레퍼시픽은 ‘나누’가 제안한 플라스틱 용기 대체재에 대한 개발 및 부산물을 활용한 화장품 패키징 개발을 검토 중이다.
‘서스테이너블랩’은 석유계 플라스틱 0%를 목표로 지속가능 소재를 발굴하고 디자인을 갖춘 자원순환 제품을 개발한다. 농업부산물을 수거해 패키지 소재로 제품화하는 부산물 재자원화 브랜드 ‘이든’을 운영한다. 아모레퍼시픽은 서스테이너블랩의 친환경 굿즈 및 제품 개발 제안과 함께 플라스틱 화장품 용기 소재 대체 가능성 등을 논의했다.
‘리베이션’은 친환경 제품 및 패키지 개발 솔루션 기업으로 탄소저감 제품개발 프로세스를 통해 플라스틱 대체 제품을 개발한다. 리베이션은 아모레퍼시픽 제품의 플라스틱 내포장재를 재활용 가능한 종이 소재로 변경하는 탈플라스틱 패키지화를 제안했으며, 제품 적용을 위한 기술테스트를 진행하고 있다.
넷제로 분야에서 선발된 ‘브이피피랩’은 데이터 기반의 재생에너지 발전량 예측과 전력시장 통합발전소(VPP) 플랫폼 서비스를 제공하는 기업이다. 아모레퍼시픽은 브이피피랩과 함께 제주 사업장의 탄소 저감 및 전기에너지 비용 절감 등 재생에너지 확대 방안에 대한 논의를 진행했다.
‘탄소중립연구원’은 LCA(제품 전과정평가) 관리 소프트웨어를 개발하는 기업으로 이번 사업을 통해 아모레퍼시픽의 주요 제품의 LCA 평가 및 체계를 구축하는 협업 성과를 거뒀다.
