한화커넥트(대표 김은희)거 커넥트플레이스 서울역점에 카페 무원에 이어 올드페리도넛을 추가 오픈하는 등 전 세대를 아우르는 디저트 성지로 자리매김하고 있다.

커넥트플레이스 서울역점 3층 팝업존에 서울 3대 도넛 맛집으로 유명한 도넛 전문브랜드 ‘올드페리도넛’이 새롭게 문을 연다.  올드페리도넛은 2016년 서울 한남동에서 시작해 SNS 상에서 유명세를 타며 젊은 소비자들 사이에서 인기몰이를 하고 있는 곳으로 미국까지 진출, K-도넛으로 현지 소비자까지 사로잡은 도넛 브랜드다.

대표 메뉴인 피넛버터·버터 피스타치오·보스톤 크림 등을 포함해 다양한 도넛 메뉴와 밀크, 슬러시 등 음료 메뉴를 함께 판매하며, 올해 말까지 팝업으로 운영할 예정이다. 오픈을 기념해 올드페리도넛 10만원 교환권 및 굿즈 등을 증정하는 복권 이벤트도 진행한다. 복권은 구매 고객 대상 선착순으로 증정되며, 준비된 수량 소진 시 종료된다. 올드페리도넛 이전에는 오픈런 맛집으로 유명한 ‘노티드’가 해당 공간에서 젊은 소비자들을 불러 모으는데 큰 역할을 한 바 있다.

지난 5월 초에는 4층 스테이션존(Station Zone)에 강남에서 한국식 디저트 카페로 유명한 ‘카페 무원’이 오픈했다. 전통차와 양갱, 모나카를 비롯 대추·쑥·흑임자 등의 재료를 사용한 구움과자 등 현대적으로 재해석한 한국식 디저트를 선보이고 있다. 이와 함께 공예 작가 ‘무자기’의 작품 전시 및 판매를 진행, 예술과 전통 디저트를 결합한 새로운 공간을 선보이며 외국인 관광객 등 다양한 고객층으로부터 호평을 받고 있다.

이외에도 서울에서 가장 오래된 베이커리이자 대중적 입맛을 사로잡은 ‘태극당’과 선물용 프리미엄 디저트로 적합한 수제 양갱 전문점 ‘금옥당’ 및 벽돌 모양 휘낭시에 맛집 ‘브릭샌드’ 등 서울역이라는 위치적 특성을 고려, 전 세대를 아우를 수 있는 다양한 디저트 브랜드를 운영하고 있다.

한화커넥트 관계자는 “최근 젊은 소비자들이 유명 디저트 맛집의 디저트를 먹기 위해 긴 웨이팅도 선뜻 나서는 만큼 식사 위주의 F&B 매장뿐 아니라 디저트 매장까지 강화하기 위해 노력하고 있다”며 “기존의 선물용 위주의 프리미엄 디저트 브랜드와 더불어 보다 트렌디한 디저트 매장을 선보여 미식 경험을 즐기기 위해 시간을 내어 찾는 공간으로 만들어 나갈 것”이라고 말했다.
