더본코리아(대표 백종원)의 커피전문점 브랜드 빽다방이 지난 11월 26일 출시한 ‘말차 신메뉴 3종’이 일주일 만에 6만 잔 판매를 돌파했다.

빽다방 판매 데이터에 따르면, ‘말차 신메뉴 3종(말차크림라떼, 말차크림 망고스무디, 말차 아이스크림)’의 출시 후 일주일간(11월 26일~12월 2일까지) 판매량은 총 6만 5천 잔을 넘어섰고, 하루 평균 약 9천 3백 잔이 팔렸다.

이중 ‘말차크림라떼’는 전체 판매량의 약 71%를 차지하며 가장 높은 선택을 받았다. 아메리카노·바닐라라떼 등 기존 스테디셀러 중심의 판매 순위에서도 상위권을 기록했으며, 특히 매장 기준 아이스 음료 판매 순위 8위에 오르는 등 신메뉴임에도 빠르게 핵심 라인업으로 자리 잡았다.

기존에 판매 중인 말차 메뉴 2종(말차라떼·말차빽스치노) 역시 동일 기간 판매량이 전년 동기 대비 32% 증가하는 등 말차 카테고리 전체가 동반 성장했다.

빽다방은 이번 신메뉴 출시에 앞선 지난 11월 10~16일까지 일부 메뉴(말차크림라떼, 말차크림 망고스무디)를 배달 앱을 통해 선출시 및 할인 프로모션을 진행했고, 해당 기간 약 3만 2천 잔 판매하는 등 흥행 가능성을 점검했다.

빽다방 관계자는 “국내산 말차 파우더와 동물성 생크림을 조합한 ‘말차크림’을 활용해 말차 특유의 쌉싸름함을 부드럽게 풀어내는 레시피는 빽다방만의 차별화”라며, “말차 마니아뿐 아니라 처음 말차 음료를 찾는 고객까지 부담없이 즐길 수 있도록 신메뉴를 구성했다”고 말했다.
