한국콘텐츠진흥원(원장 조현래, 이하 콘진원)이 지난 5월 14일 국내외 OTT 시장 소식과 동향 분석을 제공하는 ‘글로벌 OTT 트렌드 5호’를 발간했다.
이번 보고서는 해외 OTT 시장의 최신 이슈를 조망해 국내 OTT 및 방송영상 콘텐츠 업계의 원활한 해외진출을 위한 시의성 있는 동향 정보와 분석을 제공한다. 지난해 ‘글로벌 OTT 동향분석’을 시작으로, 올해부터는 ‘글로벌 OTT 트렌드’로 제호를 바꿔 연 4회 격월로 발간할 예정이다.
글로벌 콘텐츠기업, 저비용 콘텐츠 확보로 수익성 강화 총력
보고서 내 이슈 포커스에서는 ‘2024년 스트리밍 콘텐츠 투자 방향’을 중점적으로 분석했다. 그 결과, 넷플릭스를 제외한 모든 유료 스트리밍 서비스들이 수익화에 실패하면서, 올해는 글로벌 콘텐츠 기업들이 콘텐츠 투자를 줄이거나 저비용으로 제작할 수 있는 스포츠 중계와 예능 등 비대본 콘텐츠 확보에 집중할 것으로 전망했다.
