문화체육관광부(장관 유인촌)가 지원하고 한국콘텐츠진흥원(원장직무대행 유현석, 이하 콘진원)이 운영하는 게임인재원이 오는 12월 13일부터 1월 13일까지 7기 신규 교육생을 모집한다.
게임인재원은 국내 게임산업을 선도할 전문 인력 양성 기관으로 2019년 개원부터 2024년까지 4개 기수 총 194명의 게임 개발 우수인재를 배출했다. 교육과정은 2년 장기 과정으로 운영되며, 게임 현업에 종사하는 개발자들이 직접 참여하는 실무 중심의 교육과 최신 기술, 산업 동향을 반영한 실무 실습형 교육(인공지능, 콘솔 게임 등)을 제공한다.
기획, 아트, 프로그래밍 등 총 120여 명 교육생 모집
이번 모집하는 7기 교육생으로는 게임기획학과(30명), 게임아트학과(40명), 게임프로그래밍학과(50명) 등 총 120명 내외의 인재를 선발할 예정이다. 게임에 관심 있는 누구나 지원할 수 있으며, 1차 서류 전형과 2주간의 프리스쿨 전형을 거쳐 2025년 2월 말 최종 선발된다. 본 교육과정은 2025년 3월에 시작된다.
게임인재원의 교육과정은 1년차 ‘학과별 공통 심화 교육 및 미니 팀 프로젝트’, 2년차 ‘실제 게임 개발과 유사한 팀 프로젝트 개발 과정’으로 이뤄져있다. 나아가 최종 선발된 교육생에게는 교육비 전액 무료, 교육장비 및 인프라 지원, 취창업 연계 프로그램 지원, 국내외 네트워크 기회 제공, 우수교육생 국내외 경진대회 및 전시회 참가 지원, 우수교육생 장학금 제도 등 다양한 혜택이 제공될 예정이다. 이를 통해 교육생들은 미래 K-게임을 이끌어갈 핵심 인재로 성장할 수 있는 기회를 얻게 된다.
실무형 교육으로 현장 맞춤형 인재 양성
게임인재원 졸업생들은 대기업, 중견기업, 중소기업 등 다양한 게임 업계에서 활발히 활동하고 있으며, 1~3기 졸업생의 취창업률은 84%이다. 2024년 게임인재원 교육생들은 도쿄게임쇼 2024 ‘Selected Indie 80’ 선정 및 일본 크리에이터 POCKY상 수상, BIC(부산 인디커넥트 페스티벌)2024 Excellence in Experimental 및 퍼블리픽 수상 등의 성과를 이뤄냈다.
