이마트가 2019년 하반기 매출(7/1~11/17)을 분석한 결과, 와인이 처음으로 매출 10위권에 등극하며 대중 주류의 반열에 오른 것으로 나타났다.
도스코파스는 지난 8월 출시 이후 일평균 8천병이 꾸준히 판매되며 8월부터 11월 현재까지 이마트에서 판매된 모든 주류 중 수량 3위, 매출액 3위에 각각 이름을 올렸다. 현재까지 도스코파스 92만병이 판매됐으며 11월 중 초도 발주량 100만병이 완판될 것으로 보인다.
한편, 와인의 맹렬한 공세에도 불구하고 소주는 기존에 소주를 즐기지 않았던 젊은층들이 대거 유입되며 동기간 3.6% 신장했다. 대중적으로 마셔온 소주보다 도수가 약간 낮은 저도수 소주와 25도/40도 등 고도수의 증류소주가 동시에 신장하는 역설적인 현상이 나타났다.
반면, 맥주는 지난해에 이어 올해 하반기에도 1위 자리를 차지했지만 와인이 고속 신장한 영향을 받아 지난해 하반기 대비 매출이 9% 가량 감소했다.

가전제품에서는 필수 가전으로 자리잡은 건조기와 의류관리기가 포함된 세탁가전이 40.6% 신장하며, 지난해 하반기 매출 9위에서 올해 4위로 5단계 뛰었다. 건조기와 의류관리기는 올해 하반기 각각 47.7%, 127.8% 신장했으며, 특히 ‘크면 클수록 좋다’는 ‘대대익선(大大益善)’ 트렌드가 신장세를 이끈 것으로 나타났다.
16kg 대형 건조기의 매출 비중은 지난해 1% 수준에서 올해 1분기 60%로 급등했고 하반기에는 70%까지 증가했다. 5벌까지 보관이 가능한 대형 의류관리기는 지난해 매출 비중 45% 수준에서 현재 70%까지 올랐다. TV 또한 초대형 사이즈 수요가 확대됨에 따라 올 하반기 5.8% 신장하며 지난해보다 1단계 높은 7위를 기록했다.
이마트 TV 매출 중 65인치 이상 대형 TV 매출은 2018년 41% 수준에서 올 하반기 60%로 증가했다. 그 중 75인치 이상 초대형 TV는 2017년 매출구성비 4%에서 2018년 10%까지 오른 것에 이어, 올해 20%까지 확대되며, 매 해를 거듭할 때마다 2배씩 파이를 늘려가고 있다.
반면, 에어컨의 경우 지난해 여름의 ‘찜통 더위’와는 달리 올 여름 더위가 한풀 꺾이면서 순위 또한 10위에서 올해 20위권 밖으로 밀렸다.
디지털가전에서는 유튜브 등 1인 미디어가 전성 시대를 맞으며 영상 촬영기기 및 부속 액세서리 매출이 늘었다. 대표적으로, 고프로 등 액션캠은 16.9%, 마이크/보이스레코드(녹음기)/촬영조명 등이 속한 카메라 액세서리는 16% 신장했다.
신선식품에서는 ‘포도’와 ‘한우’가 매출을 주도했다. 먹기 편리하고 당도 높은 신품종 국산포도 ‘샤인머스캣’의 후광효과로 포도(국산)는 올해 하반기 15.5% 신장했다. 이에 포도는 지난해 하반기 매출 40위에서 올해 24위로 무려 16단계 올랐고, 사과를 제치고 과일 매출 순위 1위를 차지했다.
샤인머스캣이 속한 청포도는 동기간 80.9% 고공 신장하며 자줏빛 포도인 캠벨과 거봉을 모두 제치고 포도 분류 내 매출 1위를 차지했다. 캠밸과 거봉의 매출구성비는 지난해 하반기 66%에서 올해 52%로 감소했다. 육류의 경우 9~10월에 발생한 ‘아프리카돼지열병(ASF)’ 사태로 인해 돈육 매출이 지난해 하반기 대비 9% 가량 감소하며 매출 순위가 지난해 하반기 6위에서 올해 9위로 떨어졌다.
반면, ‘스테이크 수요 증가’로 인해 브랜드한우정육이 16.3% 신장하며 지난해 23위에서 올해 16위로 올라섰다. 구이용 특화부위인 브랜드한우 등심, 안심, 채끝은 각각 25.6%, 23.2%, 22.5% 신장했다.
이마트 최훈학 마케팅 담당은 “2019년 하반기는 ‘와인의 해’라고 할 수 있을 정도로 와인 매출이 증가했고 매출10위에 오르는 등 새로운 소비 트렌드를 만들었다”라며, “올해 본격화된 와인의 강세와 대중화 트렌드는 2020년에도 이어질 것으로 예상된다”고 말했다.
