패션 유통계의 큰 손 대명화학(회장 권오일)의 자회사 어센틱브랜즈코리아의 박부택 대표가 최근 독립을 선언했다.
박 대표는 2021년 새해에 새로운 법인을 설립하고, 신규 브랜드 런칭이나 M&A를 통해 직접 창업을 통해 사업을 시작하게 됐다고 밝혔다. 이로써 박 대표는 1월 인수인계를 끝으로 정식 사임하고 그 이후 신규 법인 설립을 통해 사업을 시작할 방침이다.
박 대표는 과거 한세엠케이(이전 엠케이트렌드)와 케이브랜즈 등 다수의 패션 기업을 거치면서 다양한 업무를 경험했고, 특히 상품 기획 업무에 대한 노하우가 풍부한 인물로 평가받고 있다. 따라서 뛰어난 패션 감각과 상품 기획 및 운영 능력으로 과거 직장 생활 시 맡은 브랜드마다 크게 성장하는 결과를 만들어냈다.

박부택 대표는 어센틱브랜즈코리아 법인을 통해 피스워커ㆍ 바나나핏ㆍ가먼트레이블 등의 브랜드를 운영하면서 공격적인 M&A 또는 신규 브랜드 런칭을 통해 별도 법인으로 메종미네드ㆍ그래피커스ㆍ86로드 등 전체 15개의 브랜드 운영을 총괄했다. 또한 지난해에는 새롭게 능력있는 인물을 발굴해 디렉터로 영입하는 방식의 신규 브랜드 ‘에드리엘로스’를 성공적으로 런칭하기도 했다.
박부택 대표는 지금까지 맡은 브랜드마다 매출과 효율을 모두 상승시키는 실력발휘를 선보였다. 매출이 떨어지고, 운영 자금이 바닥을 드러냈던 대다수의 브랜드들이 박 대표의 손을 거치면서 매출이 상승하고, 효율이 높아져 결국 현금 유보금이 크게 증가하는 등 탄탄해진 것이다.
박 대표의 주도로 물류 시스템 통합, 원부자재 관리 개선, 전산 시스템 개발 등을 통해 획기적으로 업무를 개선시켰고, 그 결과 효율을 크게 높이는 결과를 만들어 냈다는 분석이다. 이처럼 남다른 경영 능력을 보인 박 대표의 독립 선언 소식이 최근 업계에 알려지자 다양한 투자자가 참여 의사를 밝혀 오고 있는 것으로 파악됐다.
