리서치·빅데이터 분석 전문기관 NICE디앤알(대표 강용구)은 모바일 앱 분석 서비스 앱마인더(appminder)를 통해 올 4월 국내 주요 편의점 앱의 로그데이터를 분석한 결과 편의점 앱 설치자 및 이용자 수가 2019년 12월 대비 일제히 상승했다고 최근일 밝혔다.
NICE디앤알은 데이터 분석을 위해 국내 3대 편의점 앱인 ‘나만의냉장고(GS25)’, ‘포켓CU’, ‘세븐일레븐’의 앱 로그데이터를 조사했다. 그 결과 GS리테일의 나만의냉장고 월간 설치자 수는 2019년 12월 584만명-> 621만명(이하 올 4월 기준)으로, BGF리테일 포켓CU는 255만명-> 371만명으로, 세븐일레븐은 372만명-> 416만명으로 일제히 늘어난 사실을 확인했다. 적게는 37만명에서 많게는 116만명까지 설치자가 늘어난 셈이다.
편의점 앱 이용자 수도 마찬가지로 증가했다. 나만의냉장고 월간 이용자 수는 2019년 12월 277만명에서 올 4월 318만명으로 300만명을 넘겼고, 포켓CU도 114만명에서 212만명으로 2019년 12월 대비 1.9배의 이용자 수 증가 폭을 보였다. 세븐일레븐도 같은 기간 234만명에서 260만명으로 이용자 수가 1.1배 증가했다.
월간 앱 설치 대비 이용률(활성화율)은 세븐일레븐이 60% 수준으로 가장 높았고, 나만의냉장고와 포켓CU는 2019년 40%대에서 올 들어 50%대로 증가했다.
이러한 변화는 코로나19로 비대면(언택트) 소비 패턴이 늘어나면서 편의점 업체들의 앱 서비스 확대(출석 이벤트, 상품 보관, 포인트 적립/사용 등)가 이뤄졌기 때문으로 보인다.
또 홍보, 마케팅 채널의 다각화도 편의점 앱 이용량 증가에 기여했을 것으로 예상된다.
한편 앱마인더(appminder)의 성, 연령 분석 결과에 따르면 3대 편의점 앱(나만의냉장고, 포켓CU, 세븐일레븐) 이용량은 모두 남성보다 여성이 약 5%P 더 높은 것으로 나타났으며 나만의냉장고는 20~30세대, 포켓CU와 세븐일레븐은 40~50대의 이용률이 상대적으로 높은 것으로 조사됐다.
