롯데(회장 신동빈)가 그룹 통합 사내벤처 프로그램인 ‘롯데 유니콘 밸리’를 출범한다. ‘롯데 유니콘 밸리’는 미래의 유니콘 기업으로 성장할 아이디어들이 자라는 곳이라는 의미로 직원들의 아이디어를 액셀러레이팅(육성)하는 프로그램이다. 롯데는 사내벤처 프로그램을 통해 그룹의 신성장 동력 및 본원적 경쟁력을 강화할 수 있는 아이디어를 발굴해 빠른 시간 내에 사업화까지 추진할 계획이다.

롯데는 이번 달 말까지 직원을 대상으로 시니어, 로보틱스, AI, 친환경 등을 주제로 사업 아이디어를 공모 중이다. 이후 서류와 면접을 거쳐 연말까지 사업화 대상 아이디어를 선정할 예정이며, 내년부터 사업화를 위한 본격적인 액셀러레이팅에 들어간다. 롯데는 사업화 지원금으로 최대 1억원을 지원하며, 사업화 이후에는 그룹사의 지분 투자도 고려해 프로그램에 참여하는 직원들에게 부담을 덜어주는 차원으로 분사 이후 3년까지 재입사 기회도 제공한다.

롯데는 롯데벤처스의 액셀러레이팅 노하우와 롯데인재개발원의 교육 역량을 더해 사내벤처 프로그램의 전문성을 높였다. 롯데벤처스는 전 단계에 걸쳐 1:1 멘토링 및 아이디어에 맞는 외부 전문가를 연결해준다. 액셀러레이팅 과정에서는 식품∙유통∙화학∙IT 등 그룹 내 활용 가능한 인프라를 연결해주고, 사업화에 필요한 법률 및 재무 등을 지원해준다. 롯데인재개발원은 사업계획서 작성법부터 피칭(Pitching) 트레이닝, 프레젠테이션 등 사업화 과정에서 필요한 실질적인 기술을 교육한다.

이번 그룹 통합 사내벤처 프로그램은 지난 7월 VCM(Value Creation Meeting)에서 신동빈 롯데 회장이 전한 메시지와 맞닿아 있다. 신 회장은 경영환경의 불확실성을 극복하고 본원적 경쟁력을 회복하기 위해 끊임없는 혁신을 시도해줄 것을 당부한 바 있다. 롯데는 이번 그룹 통합 사내벤처 프로그램을 통해 신속, 혁신으로 대표되는 스타트업 DNA가 조직 내에 확대될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

롯데 관계자는 “그룹의 다양한 비즈니스 영역과 관련한 직원들의 혁신적인 아이디어들이 나올 것으로 기대한다”며, “앞으로도 자율적으로 창의적인 아이디어를 제안하고 이를 육성해 사업화하는 선순환구조를 만들어 나갈 계획”이라고 말했다.
