무신사가 서울을 대표하는 10개 로컬 브랜드와 진행한 ‘로드트립’ 프로젝트를 최근 성황리에 마무리했다. 2003년 패션 커뮤니티로 시작해 스트리트 감성을 쌓은 무신사가 서울의 ‘힛플레이스’를 직접 소개하고 협업한 것이다. 이는 서울 지역 상권을 대표하면서도 고유의 개성을 갖춘 여러 브랜드와 협업해 문화적 다양성을 확대하자는 취지에서 진행됐다.
지난 4월 8일부터 21일까지 무신사는 서울의 10개 로컬 브랜드와 함께 ‘무신사 로드트립’ 프로젝트를 펼쳤다. 이번 프로젝트에서는 이름만 들어도 금세 떠오르는 개성강한 브랜드 10곳이 참여했다. 참가 브랜드는 다운타우너(수제버거), 카페노티드(베이커리), 더부스(수제맥주), 디아우트로(바버샵), 마초의사춘기(가드닝), 맥파이앤타이거(티숍), 백야드빌더(바이크), 소금집(샤퀴테리), 스틸북스(서점), 오르에르(카페) 등이다.
무신사는 프로젝트에 참여한 로컬 브랜드와 협업해 각 브랜드의 아이덴티티가 잘 드러나는 그래픽을 담은 티셔츠를 발매했다. 이 티셔츠는 무신사 스토어에서만 구입할 수 있으며, 각 브랜드의 오프라인 매장에서도 팝업부스 형태로 전시됐다.
실제 티셔츠 제작은 모던 베이식 캐주얼웨어 브랜드 무신사스탠다드가 담당했다. 각 브랜드별 그래픽 티셔츠는 온라인 커뮤니티와 SNS상에서 ‘개성있는 콜라보’라며 화제를 일으켰고, 출시된 지 열흘만에 전체 재고의 절반이 소진될 만큼 큰 인기를 끌었다.
국내 최대 패션 플랫폼인 무신사는 그 동안 국내외 패션 브랜드와 다양한 형태의 협업을 진행한 바 있다. 2020년에 카페노티드, 다운타우너와 처음으로 힙플레이스 콜라보레이션인 ‘고! 무신사(Go! MUSINSA!)’를 기획했는데, 이는 무신사가 F&B(식음료) 전문 브랜드와 최초로 진행한 협업 프로젝트다.
2년 전에 진행한 첫 힙플레이스 콜라보레이션을 통해 서울 지역 상권 활성화와 더불어 개성 강한 브랜드 발굴의 가능성을 본 무신사는 올해는 로컬 브랜드 외연을 더욱 확장했다.
F&B 외에도 가드닝, 서점, 바버샵 등으로 카테 고리를 확장한 것인데, 이는 다양한 지역 브랜드 고유의 개성을 인정하고 존중하자는 의미를 담은 행보다. 특히 무신사는 지금까지 패션이 다른 분야의 문화 콘텐츠와 함께 발전하고 성공 했다는 점에서 서울을 대표하는 로컬 브랜드가 가진 가치가 충분히 크다는 점을 알리기 위해 이번 로드트립 프로젝트를 진행했다.
무신사는 로드트립에 참여한 브랜드를 알리기 위해 브랜드 매장 전경과 콜라보레이션 티셔츠 상품을 담은 화보, 브랜딩 필름도 제작해 무신사 스토어 앱과 SNS 등을 통해 선보였다. 또 콜라보레이션 상품을 구입한 고객을 위한 특별 이벤트를 진행하기도 했다. 티셔츠 속에 들어있는 ‘케어라벨’을 잘라서 매장에 갖고 가면, 다양한 할인 및 무료 음료 증정 등의 혜택을 주는 이벤트였다.
