지마켓은 미래 성장의 핵심을 ‘셀러’로 보고, 7,000억 원 중 가장 큰 비중인 연간 5,000억 원을 셀러 성장과 상생에 투자한다.
가장 파격적인 변화는 셀러의 비용 부담을 획기적으로 낮춘 것이다. ‘빅스마일데이’와 같은 대형 프로모션 진행 시, 고객에게 제공하는 할인 비용 전액(100%)을 지마켓이 부담한다. 또한 연간 500억 원에 달했던 셀러 부담이었던 할인 쿠폰에 붙는 별도 수수료도 전면 폐지하기로 했다.
신규 셀러와 중소 영세 셀러 육성에도 힘을 쏟는다. 기존보다 50% 늘린 연 200억 원 이상을 투자하고, 신규 셀러의 빠른 정착을 위해 일정 기간 수수료를 받지 않는 ‘제로(0) 수수료 제도’ 도입도 추진할 예정이다. 입점 카운슬링 전문 인력 100여 명을 채용하는 등 인프라도 확충해 지원을 강화한다.
알리바바 JV 기반 ‘온라인 수출 창구’ 역할 강화
국내 경쟁 심화 속에서 차별화를 이끌 또 다른 핵심은 해외 시장 확대다. 지마켓은 신세계그룹과 알리바바 인터내셔널이 손잡은 조인트벤처(JV)를 기반으로 해외 공략을 가속화한다.
현재 알리바바 계열 플랫폼인 ‘라자다’를 통해 동남아 5개국에 한국 상품 2,000만 개를 공급 중이다. 지마켓은 이를 동남아에 이어 남유럽, 북미, 중남미, 중동 등으로 확대해 5년 내 역직구 연간 거래액 1조 원 이상을 달성하는 게 목표다. K-콘텐츠 열풍을 등에 업고 국내 중소기업이 손쉽게 해외로 나갈 수 있는 ‘온라인 수출 플랫폼’ 역할을 맡겠다는 비전을 밝혔다.

이와 별도로 연간 1,000억 원을 고객 혜택에 추가 투입해, 빅스마일데이 등 4대 대형 할인 행사의 규모를 지난해보다 50% 이상 늘리고, 이마트와의 협력을 통해 신선/마트 배송 서비스도 고도화할 계획이다.
